How can we get more support from technology?
I went to GITEX Global Dubai today and talked with numerous technology companies to explore how we could implement new technologies to improve the patient experience and outcome. I'd like to share a couple of observations from my visit;
I have never seen so many robots in the halls, assisting people, carrying supplies, conversing with guests, and directing them, which is a clear indication that we will have all of these robots in hospitals and many other locations.
Another solution that featured in several stands for various functions was the hologram. My main takeaways were related to medical education and telepresence. Such high-quality telepresence would undoubtedly assist to elevate telemedicine to new heights.
Cloud services are now considerably more affordable and available to businesses of all sizes. In healthcare, data management has never been more vital. Moving these services to the cloud will undoubtedly help us improve service, access, and security.
Another area that is still a work in progress is the metaverse, but plans and conversations are all very exciting. Today, we learned that another hospital planned to launch some services, and we will continue to investigate the optimal healthcare model.
As expected, start-ups are everywhere, and their offerings are far superior than those of well-known worldwide businesses. I had the opportunity to meet with a handful of CRM solution suppliers and e-campaign management firms. Hearing their ambitious ideas energizes us, allowing us to plan new digital offerings for our patients.
Smart home technologies have inspired me to think differently about the future of our patient rooms. New technologies have made integration relatively simple, and we can now transform the rooms to a more homelike setting, which will improve the patient experience.
We need to investigate and monitor technology more closely, as well as learn from other industries about how we might improve healthcare services with such new solutions.
