Digital Transformation at the Forefront: Saudi Arabia Dedicates $13.8 Billion for Tech-Driven Medical Facilities by 2030

As part of Saudi Arabia's progressive Vision 2030, the Kingdom is channeling $13.8 billion into the development of innovative, tech-focused medical facilities by 2030, shared by Faisal Durrani Knight Frank’s partner and head of research in the Middle East.

This monumental move forms a significant chunk of a broader investment of $66.67 billion in the Kingdom’s healthcare infrastructure, with a vision to enhance private sector participation to 65% by 2030.

This includes the privatization of 290 hospitals and 2,300 primary health centers.
What stands out in this transformation is the heavy emphasis on digital healthcare innovation. The Kingdom is poised to become the fastest-growing digital health market in the GCC, setting aside $1.5 billion for healthcare IT and digital transformation programs. These initiatives highlight the Kingdom's understanding of the key role technology plays in evolving healthcare systems.

5G technology, AI, and IoT are rapidly shaping the Kingdom’s healthcare landscape, streamlining processes, cutting down costs, and enabling breakthrough applications such as AR surgery and remote patient monitoring. These advancements position Saudi Arabia at the forefront of the global digital health revolution.
